Everyone wants profit and wish to avoid the loss. Obviously the reason is simple; efforts put in should give good results for any and every activity. All beings are keen to pursue this fundamental principle while taking up activities. This for example could be easily witnessed in any business.
There was a time when profiteering was a bad name. But can we say so in reality from heart, particularly when all being want more results for fewer inputs. Any activity can be sustained on long term basis only when it is profitable.
It is also true that for all activities their inputs output cannot be measured in monitory terms but some via-media is already there to measure the profit it could be satisfaction or any other measure. All businesses and manufacturing activities are always measuring their performance in terms of profit only.
Now question come is governance not an activity? If it is, then why should it not be pursued on the concept of profit center? It has been observed that governments usually manage inputs for all the governance activities by levying taxes on common man but not at all concerned about the this concept. Is it OK? Why should concept of profit centre not get applied to governance to fix up accountability and cost effectiveness?
