Primary education happens to be the foundation of education and therefore efforts need to be put in for imparting best possible primary education. It is worth mentioning that learn-ability among children up to the age of 11 to 12 years is of highest level and subsequently it comes down gradually. Unfortunately in India we are ignoring this aspect in government schools. Government primary schools neither have good infrastructure nor good teachers (willing teachers) particularly in rural and tribal areas. Even in urban areas the quality of infrastructure in government schools is poor compared to private schools. Schools are getting managed like government departments. Efforts therefore need to be put in for improving the quality of infrastructure and teachers. What I mean by good teacher is a willing teacher, unless the teacher is willing to teach he/she can’t prove to be a good teacher. Efforts also need to be put in for seeking support from society for managing school's affairs. All these ideas should be attempted in a few schools on pilot scale once they succeed these could be implemented in other areas. Ethics/morality/humanity need to be emphasized right from the beginning of primary education. Efforts should be such that government schools should be able to compete with private schools effectively.
